Hey hey!! Amanda Collette here! Sole boudoir photographer and owner of Pure Poise. I am a 30 something mother of two little mini-me’s ages 4 and 6, and wife to my high school sweetheart. I am a total introvert trapped in an adventurer’s body. I love to travel but most days you will find me content in our country home, in yoga pants with a protein shake in hand. It’s the easiest and healthiest meal, so don’t judge! #arbonne I only become an extrovert in the studio, and I am suddenly someone I don’t know, dancing and singing to lighten your nerves. I have moments of insecurity about my own body just like anyone, so I know the struggle. The first time I was photographed nude I had a full out anxiety attack, true story. I am a huge animal lover mothering 1 dog, 2 kitties, 2 ponies, 3 horses, 6 goats, an elderly miniature donkey and a dozen or so fancy, backyard chickens. I also volunteer time to the local Animal Resource Fund to aid other’s family pets.
Why Boudoir?
I truly wish I could remember exactly what drew me to try shooting women’s boudoir over seven years ago! I don’t remember why then, but I sure know why NOW! After photographing my very first session, I realized how raw, pure, emotional and healing a boudoir experience could be for a woman’s self-image. I strive to be a light in this broken world and change how women view themselves and how that changed perception often carries out into their lives and relationships. I have always been drawn to fine art and nothing excites me more than capturing an everyday woman’s body as the art form it is. I’m obsessed with the emotion that I can bring out and the stunning art I provide.
My take on boudoir is more artistic and editorial, because I love the vibe, but also because models are everyday people just all glammed up and retouched. It’s my mission for everyday woman to fully realize this, and believe that she is of the same worthiness and beauty.
